Monthly goals.



Each month I decide one thing to give up for the whole month. The past few months I have done no soda, fewer treats, and no fast food. This month I am giving up adding salt to food. This will be pretty challenging because recently I have gotten into the nasty habit of adding salt for 'flavor'.

You are only suppose to consume 1500 mg of salt per day.I am sure the majority of people consume more than that. I have noticed that if I look at a nutrition label and it says Sodium:250mg, it seems that it is a reasonable amount in comparison of 1500 mg. But believe me. IT. ADDS. UP.

When Jordan and I make our own food, it is hard to tell how much sodium is in the meal. Then when we sit down and eat I always am like "ooh I forgot the salt!" and I dump it on. Bad bad bad. So hopefully I can get used to food not having any flavor. :) I'll let you know how it goes.

That's great! I'm also setting a goal this month. I will not be smoking crack at all in August. So far, so good.
