Jordan's Birthday Celebration

Since Jordan wasn't feeling well on his birthday we decided to wait to do something until he felt better for a while. We invited Jessica and Clarke over for dinner and some french silk-ish pie.

You can see Nora in the background. :)

The pie took a while to make but it was really delicious! I combined a few recipes and came up with this. Yum!

Jordan's Birthday!

Jordan wasn't feeling very well for his birthday so we didn't do a big cake or celebration. I just bought him a slice from the store and added ribbons and candles.

 What a handsome man!

I got him an indoor grill, a grill book and some grill scrubby pads.

11 Weeks

11 Weeks- November 5, 2012

At 11 weeks I am still experiencing morning sickness and aversion to pretty much all food. I have lost a few pounds since first getting pregnant. I have had some bad experiences with a lot of the food I have eaten so I just want to stay away from it altogether but that isn't an option. Fruit is really the only thing that I like to eat. I never want to eat any meat but I know that it is supposed to make you feel better. YUCK!

It's been cool to see my body change. The biggest thing I have noticed is that instead of my belly it is now hard from the uterus growing. The baby is now about the size of a fig.

9 Weeks

9 Weeks - October 22

Much has changed in a few weeks. I started getting morning sickness around 6 weeks and a few days. It hasn't subsided. I went to the doctor and got some medication for the nausea but it makes me very drowsy. We planned on moving mid October so I resigned from my job, my last day was October 5th. Luckily I have been able to rest since then. I don't really like taking the nausea medicine because it knocks me out. I don't take it much so I suffer the consequences.

5 Weeks

5 Weeks- September 24th

I still can't believe we are going to have a baby! Even though I am not showing yet I like this picture because it kind of captures how I was feeling when we found out. We were just so excited! I have been working and the biggest things I have noticed are having more headaches and have been more tired than usual plus I really want some orange juice!

I work out!

So you know that song by LMFAO (i think that is the name)"I'm sexy and I know it!"? Jordan sings that to me when we go work out so it's been in my head for weeks!! We have made it to day 27 of 30! WAHOO! We both have noticed things aren't as wiggly. I have been counting calories for almost 2 weeks we will see on Sunday if the hard work has paid off. I am so glad Jordan has been working out with me and going on walks, it helps so much. I kind of wish I took before and after pictures but no one wants to see that on here! We have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred and it kicks our butt! Soon we are moving on to Ripped in 30. Yikes! I have been feeling better about my body because even though I really haven't lost weight, I have lost inches. I feel proud of myself for actually doing it!

I'm sexy and I know it!

Our house hunting experience thus far

I just wanted to keep track of our experience with house hunting for journaling sake. We starting looking for houses pretty soon after we moved to Washington. We looked online for a realtor and talked on the phone with her, then we met her and decided that we liked her personality and decided to go with her. Maggie has been a realtor so far. She sends us options and we can categorize if it is a favorite, possibility and a discard. This program makes it nice because we can see all of the options and organize what we want to see. Maggie also gave us a binder to organize all the paper listings that we saw so we could take note on the properties and see the specs. This was very helpful because after you see a few houses things start to blend together. In addition to the online things she send us we look on redfin frequently to see what is new.

The first time we went house hunting was kind of disappointing but it was good to see what was in our price range and to see what kind of floor plans we liked. 4/21/12-- The next time was a bit more successful because we saw a few houses that we liked. We found a short sale house on redfin that looked interesting but was a little over our budget but we wanted to go see it; so we asked if she could add it to the list for that Saturday. Friday night, I had a dream about a house that was just perfect. The next morning we went out and started looking at houses. There were some that were good. Then we came to the one a little out of our budget (I'll call it our "Favorite Short Sale"). It had all the things that we wanted, 4 beds, 2 baths, a bonus room, office and a good sized yard. We decided that we would think about it. The next day it was pending so we moved on by looking at other houses.

I still was coming back to that house, checking the status, and hoping that it would fall through so maybe we could get a chance at it. 5/16 or 23/12--We kept looking at houses and found one that was a great layout but the backyard was next to a main road and it was noisy. I really like that house a lot but of course that isn't something that is a cosmetic fix. We decided that we would have to keep looking. There was another short sale that we liked and wanted to go revisit it but we didn't have a chance to see it this day because the people living there were sick. This was the day that Maggie told us that our "favorite short sale" was definitely going to be sold. So I had to get over the fact that it was going to be sold.

6/3/2012-- I saw our "favorite short sale" was back on the Market!!!! Since it was Sunday we decided to email Maggie that we wanted to put an offer on the house tomorrow. So Monday morning came and we decided to call her and put an offer on it. We had prayed and thought that is what we should do. We also prayed about the price we should offer and had a distinct confirmation that we do a certain price, even though the short sale was approved already for a different, higher price. We were confident on placing an offer and the price. Maggie told us that there was another person who was looking at it that day. That afternoon she told us that they put an offer in at the approved price but we had the better looking offer. That night she called again and said the seller decided to go with the other offer. I was pretty upset and so was Jordan (he just had to be strong for me so he didn't show too much emotion about it) Even though I was upset and mad that we didn't offer higher I still had a comforting feeling about our choice. To be honest I CRIED MORE AT THE SEASON FINALLY OF GREY'S ANATOMY than about the house!!!!! We prayed a lot and the peace we felt was so amazing. We are so blessed to be able to pray and receive answers and comfort.

Tuesday morning early Jordan got a text message from Maggie that said, "There is a God! The other offer backed out!". Luckily, Jordan turned his cell on way early in the morning! I found her text funny because we were really relying on Heavenly Father in this process! We went through the paperwork and have an offer in on a house! The seller has accepted the offer and now the bank has to either approve or deny it, which can take a long time. Time will tell.

6/12/12 Maggie called Jordan and the sellers got a foreclosure notice and so they had to work out with the bank to stop the process. Luckily, they were able to stop the foreclosure process and continue with the bank  short sale approval process. We are still waiting to hear back but it could take a few months before we know anything. We are trying not to get excited about it because most don't go through, but for our sake I hope it does!

Wish us luck!

I will need a big bowl of ice cream if it doesn't work out! Any takers?

On a good note a friend finally got through the short sale process and is hopefully closing in July! Yay!!! I know it has been a not so fun experience for they so they totally deserve to get a wonderful house!

Washington

Jordan and I moved to Washington state at the end of March. We were so lucky to have wonderful friends to help us pack up our stuff and put it into the truck. We have been living with Jordan's parents and so far it has been alright. I can't complain! We have been working with a realtor and looking for a house. We have seen a few that we like and hope that soon we can find one we love and put an offer on it! It will be a great feeling to have our own little home and some privacy.

Looking for homes is mostly fun but at times it can be stressful. I have come to learn that realtors know how to make a house look appealing on paper even though when you go see it, it stinks of urine, has peeling walls, stained carpet and no kitchen! Why did you just waste an hour of my time?! At least you could mention it was a indoor pet house, then I would have some inclination that it could smell like pee. Anyway...we have two in mind that we like so we will see what happens with that!

This week we get to go see our new niece and attend the blessing. I love baby blessings, they are such a sacred experience and I always feel the love of our Heavenly Father. I am so excited to spend time with the Corrine, Kristofer, and the cute kids! It will rock my world.

I was able to see my mom a few weeks ago and we got to spend some great time together thrifting, talking, working in the garden and vegging. I love her and I miss her and am so glad to be closer to her!

Other than that I have been staying home and not much else. I may start looking for a part-time job or maybe full-time. We shall see. Anyway, I am happy for this new adventure Jordan and I am on and can't wait to see what lies ahead!

Swagbucks

I have been using Swagbucks for a few months and from searching and doing polls I have gotten 552 swagbucks. For 450 I can get a free $5 Amazon gift card. That is is pretty neat considering I didn't buy anything through them. They have a referral program so if you decide to sign up you should use this link! I follow this lady's blog and she gets a lot of free stuff by using Swagbucks. I hope I can get more familiar with it so can get more and maybe get enough to do Christmas for less this year!
